The successful candidate will be experienced in handling large complex Property & Casualty risks and be responsible for managing underwriting activities, developing strategies, and ensuring profitable growth within P&C sectors predominantly, expanding into Construction and Engineering sectors across the Asia region. The person hired will also be expected to mentor and train support staff.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute underwriting strategies to achieve business objectives and maximize profitability.
- Lead a small team, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure consistent performance and adherence to company standards.
- Evaluate complex risks across Property, Engineering and Construction sectors, utilizing sound underwriting principles and practices.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other key stakeholders to drive business development initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Claims and Risk Management to assess and mitigate risks effectively.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to inform underwriting decisions and strategies.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance the company's visibility and market presence.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in underwriting within the industry, with a focus on Facultative for Property & Casualty highly desirable
- Proven track record of successfully underwriting complex risks across these sectors
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving goals.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
