Team Overview:
MSS Operations Strategy and Change is a dedicated team of 'change experts' that help plan, design, and deliver the implementation of change initiatives for MSS Operations. Combining our change expertise with operations knowledge and network, we work hand in hand with the business and delivery partners globally to lead, manage and deliver the digital transformation goals. We adopt a structured approach and offer a number of value-add services from ideation, initiation, right through execution and closure.
We are a trusted partner to MSS Operations in leading the digital transformation initiatives across multiple functional product and asset classes, delivering key strategic, regulatory and optimization outcomes.
The Opportunity:
- MSS Operations is executing against the 2025 strategy, the Workflow Orchestration Programme is a flagship initiative to enable and deliver on the MSS Operations transformation agenda.
- We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Agile Business Analyst to join the team to lead and manage the delivery of key workstreams on the workflow platform and the prioritized backlog.
- As an Agile Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between stakeholders and development teams. Your primary focus will be on gathering and analyzing business requirements, facilitating communication, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet customer needs.
- This role is key to support the expansion of the Workflow Orchestration platform rollout across MSS Operations through a multi-year delivery roadmap.
- End to end delivery ownership of prioritised backlog including requirements gathering, user stories, solution design (in collaboration with Ops, Change and IT), support the testing and implementation into the Operations line teams.
- Partner with stakeholders across Operations, Change and IT to ensure collaborative engagement and orchestrate execution across the entire delivery value chain.
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit and document clear, concise, and comprehensive business/user requirements.
- User Story Development: Translate business requirements into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria in a BDD format.
- Facilitation: Organize and facilitate requirements workshops and user story grooming sessions.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between business/operations stakeholders and development PODs to ensure mutual understanding of requirements and priorities.
- Analysis: Analyze and prioritize user stories based on business value, technical complexity, and other factors. Analyse the end-to-end operational processes with a data driven lens to streamline and improve the workflows.
- Solution Design: Actively contribute to the solution design of the workflow platform to ensure the enhancements and features are delivering the intended business outcomes with minimal technical debt.
- Testing Support: Assist in defining acceptance and validation criteria to ensure delivered solutions meet business requirements.
- Data Analysis & Insights: Work with engineers, architects and BAs to design data models, workflows and integration solutions that support and enable data centric decision making. Perform detailed data analysis including data profiling and mapping. Translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of business requirements, user stories, process flows, and other relevant artifacts.
- Risk Management: Identify and communicate project risks and issues; propose solutions and mitigation strategies as needed.
- Manage external vendor relationship where appropriate.
- Contribute to the workflow orchestration roadmap planning.
- Strong awareness of the factors which might lead to financial loss and those mitigating controls to prevent such losses.
- Strong awareness of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.
- Maintains Bank internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
- Understands, follows, and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.

- Proven track record and strong experience as a Business or Data Analyst in Agile environments
- Strong understanding of data models, data integration and database design concepts
- Experience of working on ServiceNow workflow solutions and awareness of ServiceNow workflow features is essential.
- Strong knowledge of Markets and Securities Services Middle and Back Office including Fund Services, and Cash Securities; operations as a function, asset classes, products, industry wide systems and processes.
- Experience of being involved in and managed successful delivery of large and complex operational change from initiation to deployment.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience in influencing a senior set of sponsors and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate discussions and negotiate mutually agreeable outcomes.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and ability to connect data capabilities with business goals
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio) and Agile project management tools.
- Good understanding of operational risk frameworks, including non-financial risk.
- Experience in leveraging available and emerging best in class technologies to benefit the wider change agenda and tenacity to find solutions to complex problems.
- Deliver an ambitious Programme of work in fixed timeframe, but with fast-pace and dynamic environment.
- Manage multiple internal and external dependencies with competing priorities and deadlines which may impact overall delivery.
- Manage complex stakeholders across multi-region teams and products.
- Negotiate and influence conflicting decisions and outcomes.
