Project Brief:
- The role will be assigned to change initiatives within SSv Strategic Execution, Regulatory, Tax and Mandatory (RTM) portfolio delivery team working closely with the Securities Services business and operations areas in a transformation and change delivery execution role.
- The objective of the RTM portfolio within Securities Services (SSv) Strategic Execution is to safeguard the Securities Services business globally and ensure we remain at all times within compliance requirements so we can continue to operate. The composition of the portfolio is driven by changes either in (1) external regulatory and tax compliance requirements, or (2) by market driven change (such as IBOR or the SWIFT ISO standards), or (3) by Bank/GBM/SSv mandated programmes of work (such as Global Standards or Conduct Risk).
- In all instances these changes will typically impact the Securities Services business across multiple sectors and product lines and/or countries and regions and therefore require support from the central COOT RTM Portfolio to co-ordinate, manage and implement the resultant cross-business change.
- Projects will usually involve the building of new complex business models in conjunction with Product, Technology, and Operations to support internal business or external market driven initiatives; re-structuring of existing business; and/or re-engineering initiatives driven by industry changes and internal projects / initiatives. Effective liaison with Regulatory Compliance, Tax Compliance, Legal and Client Management functions is an integral component of most projects.
- A proven track record in the successful delivery of fast-paced, complex business process analysis & change execution initiatives is essential. Previous experience working with third party vendors and outsource providers will be advantageous. Developing and maintaining strong working relationships internally and with client contacts and third parties is a key component of the role, as is stakeholder management and the ability to operate and communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to understand and navigate complex business processes in order to transform and enhance the Securities Services business operating model is an integral part of the role. The role works across the Securities Services product offering to deliver full end to end change delivery from requirements definition management, planning through to solution execution and adoption.
- The job-holder will carry out the programme management for a number of project or workstreams concurrently and / or may manage elements of a strategic programme managed by a Programme Manager. The role is also designed to provide leadership and management, where required, to one or more project managers.
- The projects involve the management of multiple work streams and resources from within the mandatory change delivery team, as well as across the business sectors and technology change teams. Developing and maintaining strong working relationships internally and with client contacts and third parties is therefore a key component of the role, as is stakeholder management and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
- A primary objective is to ensure projects are delivered against plan within the timescales and to budget, highlighting and resolving issues as they arise. Additionally, a consistent and professional approach to project management is essential with particular attention to the risk profile of the project delivery and the subsequent operating model.
- Immediate focus for this role will be on SSv Fee Billing – Pelican programme, a multi-year programme with a roadmap of change to transform the SSv billing model. Execution is focussed on delivery of a technology focussed programme to transform and digitalise the Securities Services client pricing and billing service. The role will require an ability to understand and navigate complex business processes across global locations and each of the product services in order to transform and enhance the Securities Services billing operating model. The role works across the Securities Services product offering to deliver full end to end change delivery from requirements definition management, technology solution identification through to detailed planning of solution execution and adoption.
- To provide or support high quality project delivery services in line with the strategic objectives of the business.
- To support the project team in the execution of detailed analysis of current operating model to identify, transform and migrate the SSv operating model to a digital billing service.
- To define and manage the transformation delivery, including migration of legacy SSv product billing service to a digital billing service.
- Work closely with Product & Operations to define and migrate SSv client product billing to a transformed operating and digital model.
- Programme/Project Set Up and Closure: Works with the business to define and agree project structure and benefits and to confirm that outputs and outcomes will support their realisation.
- Governance and Reporting: Creates, implements and operates within an appropriate governance framework which aligns to the wider Group governance framework.
- Planning and Finance: Defines detailed project delivery plan; drives progress against the project plan; understands, challenges and proactively manages the cost position; and acts to mitigate potential cost or time delays.
- Resource Management: Identifies and secures appropriate resources to work on the project; defines clear roles and responsibilities for all team members including specific responsibility for production of all deliverables.
- Stakeholder Management: Leads the management/delivery of change through establishing effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- To develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with business colleagues in support of project delivery
- To identify and mitigate project risks with an objective of zero defects once business transferred to the live environment; in addition to manage and mitigate the impacts of issues where they arise.
- Dependent on assignment, to manage and develop a team of staff who are responsible for supporting and facilitating delivery of projects either within the Department or as a collective project team from across the business.
