YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct research and build the prospect pipeline.
• Develop new business opportunities by initiating contact with prospective clients through networking, cold calling, referrals etc.
• Work on tender proposals with good coordination skills.
• Have a general understanding of the construction-type insurance policies: Construction All Risks, Erection All Risks, Construction Liability, Delay in startup, Construction Employees Compensation, Surety Bond, Professional Indemnity.
• Analyse the specific risks associated with construction projects to determine appropriate insurance coverage to meet clients’ needs and project requirements.
• Collect and collate underwriting information from the clients about the risk profile of their construction projects, and provide continual insurance advisory and consultancy service.
• Prepare quotation slips and underwriting submissions for insurance marketing.
• Lead market negotiations and insurance placements in line with client’s procurement guidelines.
• Assist clients and work with our claims teams during the claims process, provide guidance on documentation and advocate on their behalf with insurers.
• Keep abreast of market developments, industry practices, new products and services.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers and underwriters for better market position and negotiation power.
• Prepare business updates to the Head of Department on regular basis
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE:
• We welcome candidates with 5-10 years of broking/underwriting experience in insurance industry, as well as those with more senior-level experience.
• Technical background in engineering, contract or cost management would be a plus.
• Highly driven and energetic individual with strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Good team player
• Proactive and self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• A degree or diploma holder or any relevant risk and insurance qualifications
